REPORT ON ALUMINUM CAN RECYCLING

Updated on October 20, 2008 !

To date, we have recycled 18556.6 pounds of aluminum.

We have sent $22,354.98 to Optimist International Foundation for (1) the Optimist International Children’s Cancer Research Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, (2) the Optimist International Children’s Cancer Campaign generically, and (3) the Maryland-South Delaware District Children’s Cancer Campaign.

In addition to the Severna Park Optimist Club, major contributors have been the Jacksonville OC and the Timonium OC.  Many other clubs have made contributions and all are appreciated.

We owe a special debt of gratitude to David Bowman of the Fort Smallwood Optimist Club for his efforts to collect and recycle from the several zones of our district, as well as his relationship to the owner of Maryland Recycle in agreeing to give us every penny that Maryland Recycle gets from the aluminum company for our aluminum.

Jim Hubbard
